How long have you worked out at Mo-Mentum Fitness?
I have been working out at Mo-Mentum since the end of July.   Not very long when you really think about it, but I feel like I kind of live
Why did you start working out with Mo-Mentum Fitness?

I had surgery on my wrist and knew that I needed to get back into exercise.   I also knew that I needed something different than what I had been doing.  For many years I worked with a personal trainer and with my injury, I knew I needed more specialized support and help than I was getting.   I visited a couple of different gyms trying to find one that fit me and would help me recover as well as push me to a new level.  Mo-momentum fit that bill in so many ways!

How has working out with Mo-Mentum Fitness impacted your life?

If I am not at work or sleeping….or meal prepping….I am working out. I have pushed myself, been inspired by those around me and been pushed to do things out of my comfort zone.   I feel healthier and being sore is the new normal.   Varying my workouts has given me an outlet and a place to let my mind wonder from work…a place to find quiet…a place to breath, relax and recover so that I am ready for another day.

What is your advice for a healthy life?

Be patient.   Haha.   Amanda and Adrian- are you laughing!!!   I am still working on this.   Be realistic.   Have an attainable goal and allow that success to be your motivator!    Don’t let one bad decision about a meal or a missed opportunity for a workout make you stop.   Each moment/meal is a new one and can change your direction.   Each little step moves you forward towards your goal.  Just get to the gym…. You feel better afterwards!

What is your favorite healthy snack?

I feel ridiculous for not having a good answer for this.  I spend a lot of time meal prepping and eating.   I am not sure about snacks.  Buff bake in a smoothie is yummy! Mighty muffins are good too!

What health/fitness goal are you most proud of achieving?

Lifting in the competition with P, Stephanie, Maria, Kayla and Steve was beyond cool!   But I am proud to survive one of Adrian’s classes or the dreaded spin class (my apologies to Alex and Allie!) I feel proud of what I have accomplished thus far and look forward to another big goal/challenge!

How has working out helped you in other areas of life?

Each day when I walk into Mo-Mentum, I feel like I am Norm walking into Cheers.   Everybody knows your name.  There is a community of support and encouragers.   The importance of that community helps me remember what our goal is at work.   We build a community to support one another in growth and it takes a “whole” healthy person to live, grow and thrive.   Exercise is a huge part of being in balance and being able to learn.   It is fun to put my learner hat on as well to better understand how I learn so that I can help those around me.   It is fun to watch those around me start working on moving their bodies. I love seeing my own staff challenging themselves with healthier lifestyles!   It is contagious!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I very much appreciate Amanda, Will, Adrian, Callie, Allie and Steve for pushing me each day… for laughing at my sign… for knowing when to tell me to tap out…for holding me accountable ….for making me stronger…for laughing at my roundhouse kicks…..for making us laugh as we all push ourselves!    I so appreciate all with whom I work out as you inspire and motivate me to be better, to try harder and to challenge myself in ways that I never thought I would.  I love laughing with you as we sweat and push ourselves to higher levels!

A year ago, I would never have dreamed I would be doing what I do at Mo-Momentum!   Thank you to all!    You are my superheroes!
